| The famed flagship for wildlife is the Kruger National Park , the first national park to be established and now host to one million visitors a year.
Stretching for 350km north to south along South Africa 's eastern border with Mozambique , Kruger is world renowned for its rich and diverse wildlife. It is a natural paradise, offering wildlife enthusiasts encounters with 150 different mammals and over 500 species of birds. Kruger is iconic Big Five territory, yet there's so much more to enjoy after spotting lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and elusive leopard. Endangered wild dogs can be seen in the south, cheetah and zebra on the plains and giraffe in the wooded areas.
Our Lodge safaris in this region are conducted in the Great Kruger regions such as Timbavati Game Reserve and Manyeleti Game Reserve. They both are wilderness areas bordering Kruger National Park with no fences where the wildlife is free to roam between the Kruger and the Game Reserves.
You are likely to see all the usual animals of the African bush like lion, elephant, rhino, leopard and many antelopes. The reserve avoids the crowds as these wilderness sanctuaries enable one to embrace the African bushveld, taking in the sounds, sights and smells that make our bush safaris a unique experience.
Timbavati Game Reserve and the Manyeleti Game Reserve are situated on the Western boundary of the Kruger National Park. In recent years, the fences separating Timbavati and Manyeleti from the Kruger National Park were dropped, thus forming a pristine wilderness area of approximately four million hectares.
